DIGESTING SUCCESS

DIGESTING SUCCESS

We often hear about digesting failures, and use them as ladder to achieve to the desired success. But what after achieving a set benchmark? I think, success is not a destination but a continuous process. Hence, digesting Success is as important as achieving success.

I remember two great cricket players from Mumbai. Yes, I am talking about Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli. Both were equally talented and many experts believed Kambli to be more talented and promising than Tendulkar. Both entered the International Cricket in almost same time zone. But one became the great legend and benchmark for billions, while other is the lost name.

What was the secret of the milestones achieved by the little master? What went wrong with the highly talented and even more promising left-handed batsman?

Anyone who is aware of the journey can easily find the difference. Both were highly talented and both put their best to achieve the initial success. But on one hand, Kambli stuck up at the initial success and could not digest it properly. He lost the consistency of efforts and got distracted leading to deterioration of the game and finally reached nowhere. On other hand, Sachin was always sincere in his profession. He was not only a consistent performer but also focused on learning and consistent improvement. He also got some bad patches in his career but never distracted from the goal. He digested the success so well that it became a continuous process for him. In fact, he is one of the greatest examples of living the goal every moment.

Always down to earth, humble, eager to learn and far away from the ego; these are the secret tools to digest the success and keeping room for success to follow you as an ongoing process.
