ART OF DRAWING A BIGGER LINE

ART OF DRAWING A BIGGER LINE

One fine morning, when students entered the class room, they found a line drawn on the board. The teacher asked them to make it smaller or bigger without touching it. Everyone in the class became clueless. “How is it possible?” It was a common expression on each and every face. Looking at the pin-drop silence in the class, the teacher picked up a marker and drew a bigger line adjacent to the existing line and hence it became smaller. He drew another line just a bit smaller than the existing line and now that line is a bigger line. There was a smile on each and every face.  Now he said, “It’s up to us which line we want to draw on the board of our life”.

This may look a very simple incidence but it has a deep meaning. If we see this example in the context of our life, it carries a great lesson for us. In every situation of the life, we find a line drawn on the board of our life. It may be a line of odds or struggles in our life or it may be a line of tough time testing our metal or it may be line of a highly competitive world around us. If we see our life minutely there is another line knowingly or unknowingly drawn on the board of our life adjacent to the first one. This is the line which creates difference. The first line is drawn by the life itself; and we may not have any control or little control over it. However, the second one is absolutely ours. It’s a line of our morale or a line of our efforts or a line of our self confidence to tackle the prevailing situation or a line of our attitude towards any such situation.

So, if we learn the art of drawing this second line bigger than the first one, we are the winner or it is otherwise. Yes, a bigger line of proper goal setting, a bigger line of dedicated efforts, a bigger line of our consistency, a bigger line of “Never Say Die attitude” and a bigger line of gratitude to the universe for whatever we have received in the life. In this process, I am sure that we are simultaneously drawing a much bigger line of our undisputed success because sooner or Later we become what we think about us. So let us master the art of drawing a bigger line to design our own destiny.

Wish You A Happy Life
